About This Project

This project was a complete redesign of a web site using a mobile-first design process.  The existing site was non-responsive and didn’t work well on mobile devices.  The content was cluttered and the look and feel was inconsistent.

I defined and adhered to a design process to create a mobile-friendly, clean, consistent and database driven site.   I defined requirements, created a content inventory, developed layout wire-frames, established color and typography palettes, and implemented the design using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Boostrap, and mySQL.  I also blogged about the process (see links at bottom of this description).

I designed a DB structure to drive a performance schedule, CD and song discography and related items such as lyrics, reviews and awards.  Implemented site elements such as:

  • image slideshows
  • responsive navigation menu
  • collapsible performance details
  • contact form with recapthca verification
  • dynamic review text slideshow
  • video players
  • music players
  • site search

I also created responsive administration pages for maintaining database elements and managing business tasks.
