About This Project

This project was to design a concert poster for a band performing at a mid-sized theater. The design was to have a nod towards the Grateful Dead, but also incorporate some humor. The band name “Shudders” was a play on words and meant to be a mash-up between window shutters and cow udders. I incorporate shutters into the design as well as a skeleton with a cow head. I utilized fonts that were reminiscent of music in the 1960s and a vibrant color scheme.

The poster was created in Adobe Illustrator utilizing original vector art, envelope distortion, opacity and color gradients, 3D rendering (for the shutters), clipping masks and other features. The skeleton was hand drawn and converted into vector art so it could be manipulated.
