About This Project

This was a project to design a cover for my album “Wish You Were Here”.  I wanted the physical CD to look and feel like a vintage postcard.  I first studied old postcard designs to understand the typography, layout and elements used in the 40s, 50s and 60s.  I designed the CD cover using Photoshop to create specific elements and then Illustrator to place all the graphics in a layout.  I had to design the cover so that, although it is a square, it still evoked the feel of a rectangular postcard.
