About This Project

As part of my Colorado Sessions video series, I created a segment in each episode to share my experience performing at various breweries.  For episode 3 (Tommykocker Brewing in Idaho Springs, CO), I had a friends with me who provided me with some really good footage.  My task was to record a song and edit these clips to sync up with the music.

Here’s where I made a happy mistake.  I didn’t realize that one of my friends had intentionally filmed everything with very little contrast or color saturation with the intention of color correcting everything later.  I thought the washed out look of the footage looked interesting and went with what I had been provided.  The few clips recorded by another friend look very rich and colorful in contrast which provided a nice juxtaposition.

For me this was an exercise in editing clips provided to me from multiple sources into something that told a story and captured the gig.  This “quick and dirty” video project ended up producing a nice music video for the series despite the misstep.
